直接專業委聘
一般公眾人士須經律師轉介才可委聘執業大律師。大律師與案件當事人保持距離，有助維持大律師的公正無私及獨立性。然而，大律師在大律師行為守則許可的情況下可以接受某些特定範疇的專業人士，如會計師、工程師、公司秘書、仲裁員、評稅顧問、測量師、申訴專員、法律援助服務局、個人資料私隱專員、地產代理監管局、平等機會委員會、金融糾紛調解中心的直接委聘。這稱之為「直接專業委聘」。
