AMENDMENT TO CODE OF CONDUCT - FLOW CHART UNDER ANNEX 5

Members are referred to Circular No. 052/03 regarding the amendments to the Code of Conduct in relation to admission and pupillage. The Bar Council has resolved on 25 March 2004 to make further amendments to the flow chart of "Admission under s.27(1) of the Legal Practitioners Ordinance" under Annex 5. The amended version is now attached.

NEW PUBLIC E-SERVICE ON THE JUDICIARY WEBSITE

The Judiciary Administrator has written to inform that with effect from 29 March 2004, the Judiciary will provide the following public services via their e-services portal on the Judiciary website: http://www.judiciary.gov.hk:-

(1) e-Hearing Date Enquiry Service for all levels of Courts (except the Obscene Articles Tribunal where office automation is now in the pipeline). The information provided will cover all current and future hearing dates of court cases and will include information on cases warned for trial from the Warned List (Civil Running List) undated daily (weekdays only) at not later than 2: 30 p.m.

(2) e-Appointment Booking Service for litigants of the Labour Tribunal. This is to facilitate litigants to make on-line appointment bookings with Tribunal Officers.
