REFERENCES TO REGISTRAR

The Registrar has recently written to inform us his decision of 5 February 2004 relating to the practice and procedure under Order 75 Rule 41. A copy of the decision is enclosed for your reference.

The registrar has now obtained a direction from the Hon. Mr. Justice Waung, the Judge in charge of the Admiralty List, that the practice of having a call-over hearing had been abolished as from 18 February 2004.

Any party who intends to seek directions from the Court must act in accordance with Order 75 rule 41(2), the Rules of High Court (Cap. 4A).

Members are reminded that from now on no date for substantive hearing of the referenced matter before the Registrar will be fixed unless the party is satisfied that no direction or further direction will be sought by that party.
