HAGUE CONFERENCE ON PRIVATE INTERNATIONAL LAW
SPECIAL COMMISSION ON THE PRACTICAL OPERATION OF THE HAGUE
APOSTILLE, EVIDENCE AND SERVICE CONVENTIONS
The Special Commission of the Hague Convention on Private International Law had conducted its conference between 28 October 2003 and 4 November 2003. The Special Commission had reached certain conclusions on:
(1) the convention abolishing the requirement of legislation for foreign public
documents;
(2) the convention on service abroad of judicial and extrajudicial documents
in civil and commercial matters; and
(3) convention on the taking of evidence abroad in civil and commercial matters.
The detailed conclusion are available for copying and inspection at the Bar Secretariat, or alternatively members may find and download a copy of the conclusion at the Bar website www.hkba.org.

HONG KONG 2030 : PLANNING VISION AND STRATEGY
STAGE THREE PUBLIC CONSULTATION
Please note the Planning Department has written to inform that the Stage Three public consultation on the captioned study has been launched. At this stage of their study they will:
(a) explain the key assumptions used in drawing up the reference scenario for
the future development of Hong Kong;
(b) present planning choices and options to meet future development requirements
and their implications; and
(c) invite public views on the planning choices/options and other "what
if" scenarios.
The detailed Consultation Booklet is available for copying and inspection at the Bar Secretariat. In addition to the Consultation booklet, technical papers on individual strategic planning issues are also available for reference at the HK2030 website www.info.gov.hk/hk2030.
