IPBA (INTER PACIFIC BAR ASSOCIATION) M.S. LIN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR YOUNG LAWYERS

The IPBA is offering a number of scholarships to young barristers to subsidize the costs of attending the 14th IPBA Conference, which will be held between 2 and 5 May 2004 in Seoul Korea.

The Scholarships are open to young lawyers of under 35 years' of age with less than 5 years of practice.

4-DAY CONFERENCE ON CREDIT INFORMATION AND CREDIT IN ENTERPRISES
(Shanghai, 16 - 19 October 2003)

The Legal Education Trust Fund has extended an invitation to members of the Bar to a conference on Credit Information and Credit in Enterprises to be held in Shanghai between 16 and 19 October 2003.

The conference is co-hosted by the Legal Education Trust Fund and various Shanghai municipal government agencies.

ONE-DAY CONFERENCE ON "WOMEN - ECONOMICS AND LAW"
(Hong Kong, 24 September 2003)

The Legal Education Trust Fund will also be hosting a one-day conference titled "Cross Straits: Women - Economics and Law" on 24 September 2003 in Hong Kong.

The conference will be held from 9 am to 5 pm at the Sheraton Hotel and will be conducted in Cantonese and Putonghua.

THE DRAGON FOUNDATION

The Dragon Foundation will be hosting a talk by the eminent Chinese literary scholar and writer Professor Pai Hsien Yung as part of the Foundation's "Lecture Series for Young Leaders".

The event will take place on Saturday, 13 December 2003 from 10 am to 12 pm at Room 301 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Professor Pai will be exchanging ideas, sharing his life experiences and literary wisdom with participants of the talk. The talk will be conducted in Cantonese.

The Foundation has extended an invitation to our young members (of 35 years' of age and below). Seats are limited and will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. Members interested in attending are advised to give their names to the Bar Secretariat as soon as possible but in any event before 30 September 2003.
